You will be able to get to us without difficulties, since Lefkas is the only island in Greece that you can drive to, without having to use sea transport (ferry boat). Apart from the floating bridge that connects our island with the mainland, access to us is being facilitated by Aktion immersed tunnel, as well as Rion-Antirion bridge. Furthermore, through Egnatia and the under construction Ionian highways the road journey to our area is not only fast, but safe too! The route from Athens is 380 kilometers and requires about 4:30 hours driving. If you are coming from Thessaloniki, you will need to go through 420 kilometes, driving for about 4 hours. The distance between beautiful Lefkas and Igoumenitsa port is 120 kilometers, or just an hour and a half of driving. Aktion airport operates 20 kilometers away from our island (distance you can cover by taxi or bus) and connects our area with various cities of Greece (Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Kefallonia, Zakinthos, Crete) as well as abroad (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, etc). Lastly, you can reach Hotel Arion by sea, since neighboring Nidri’s port is being used to connect us by sea, with the islands of Ithaka and Kefallonia.
You will find Hotel Arion at Perigiali, a quiet, green idyllic location, very close to popular and busy Nidri. A beautiful landscape with rich vineyards, fertile orchards and fragrant gardens characterizes the wider area and earns the visitors’ admiration. 200 meters away from Hotel Arion our guests can find a bakery and at around 400 meters a supermarket. Without having to go far, at about 150 meters away from our facilities, you will be able to enjoy the Ionian turquoise waters, at Perigiali beach. A bit further away, at about one kilometer, you can visit the beach of Passa, which is a marine attraction of our area. If you love nature, a little farther (about three kilometers from Hotel Arion) and with easy access, you can admire the beautiful waterfalls of Dimosari. You will need to walk a twenty-minute, beautiful path, which will for sure keep all your senses alert. Nidri begins at about one kilometer away from Hotel Arion. Nidri itself does not need any specific recommendations, since it is for years a popular tourist resort and is able to offer you a very entertaining day and/or night. Apart from the wide variety of water sports (bananas, ringos, fly fish, ski, parasailing, scuba diving), at Nidri you are able to rent a canoe, pedalboat, motorboat or sailboat and tour the islands and countless small bays of the area. If you feel less of a captain, you can just join in one of the organized daily cruises, that start at the port of Nidri and take you through the sights of our waters. When the time for food comes, you can enjoy Greek, Italian or Chinese cuisine, unless you want something simpler, like a visit to one of the many taverns, pizzerias or fast foods in the area. If by the time the night comes, your strengths haven’t abandoned you and you don’t feel like staying in, we are certain that the area’s nightlife will leave you satisfied. In Nidri you can find anything from quiet bars with easy listening music, bars with more “uplifting” music, rock clubs, to night clubs with even more powerful beats.
